REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION CBA ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS (DEALS OF THE YEAR)
The Council and/or the Committee shall have the right to review with any Applicant the documents relating to a transaction
ADMINISTRATION
The candidates for the CBA Special Recognition Awards (Landlord, Future Leader, Collaborating Partner and McCall Leadership), are nominated by the membership. Non-members may nominate candidates for Collaborating Partner and Landlord of the Year.
Nominations
Popular Vote
- Any applicant who is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration and who was a 2021 member of CBA, whose 2021 dues are current is eligible and whose Principal is licensed and is also a member of CBA, whose dues are current, is eligible for consideration.
- Said Applicant must also be a 2022 dues paying member, at the time of the presentation of the CBA Achievement Awards.
- If an applicant is a new member of CBA, only transactions closed after the effective date of membership in CBA will count as CBA Achievement Awards.
- Transactions must have been closed or completed in 2021 with no outstanding contingencies to be eligible for consideration.
- The Applicant must submit a properly executed application to CBA on or before Wednesday, January 24th, 2022, 11:59pm.
- Deals must have been transacted in Massachusetts.
- Deal may only be entered in one category.

ADMINISTRATION
The candidates for the CBA Special Recognition Awards (Landlord, Future Leader, Collaborating Partner and McCall Leadership), are nominated by the membership. Non-members may nominate candidates for Collaborating Partner and Landlord of the Year.
Nominations
- You may only nominate one individual or company for each special recognition award.
- You may nominate your company or a member of your company.
- Future Leader, Collaborating Partner and Landlord of the Year nominations must be accompanied by a narrative, not to exceed 100 words explaining why this candidate is worthy of the award.
- McCall Award nominations must be accompanied by a statement of the nominees’ background including: years in the commercial brokerage industry; evidence of community involvement; note worthy transactions completed; involvement in the Commercial Brokers Association and support for the commercial brokerage industry.
- All nominations are subject to the review by a Presidential Council, consisting of the three most recent past presidents, the current president and the president-elect of CBA, to ensure that each nominee possesses the qualifications to be a worthy candidate for a special recognition award.
- The Council shall submit its nominees to a Judging Committee. The Committee shall consist of two past recipients of the Broker of the Year Award (to be selected by the CBA Board of Directors) and the aforementioned five-member Presidential Council for a total of seven members.
- The winner in each category shall be selected by a combination of the popular vote of the membership, worth two points and votes by members of the judging committee, worth seven points. The judging committee shall consist of two past recipients of the Broker of the Year Award (selected by the CBA Board of Directors) plus the aforementioned five-member Presidential Council.
Popular Vote
- Members may cast one vote for each nominee in the Special Achievement Award categories (Future Leader, Landlord, Collaborating Partner and McCall Leadership of the Year)
- Members may vote for a member of their own company, or in the case of Landlord of the Year, their own company.
- The winner of the popular vote shall be the individual or firm receiving the highest number of the votes. The winner of the popular vote shall receive two points.
- The votes of the judging committee members shall count for one point each or collectively seven points.
- There are nine points to be earned. Two points are earned from the popular vote and seven from the Judging Committee members.
- The winner will be the individual or firm receiving the highest number of points.
- A Presidential Council (Council), consisting of the three most recent past presidents, the current president and the president elect of CBA shall select, from among the nominees, not more than ten candidates for each Achievement Award category.
- The Council shall submit its nominees to a Judging Committee. The Committee shall consist of two past recipients of the Broker of the Year Award (to be selected by the CBA Board of Directors) and the aforementioned five-member Presidential Council for a total of seven members.
- Immediately thereafter, the Judging Committee shall select a winner in each award category.
